It serves as a platform to promote diversity and freedom of expression while highlighting the role of radio in fostering dialogue and understanding among diverse communities.
At Narayana Schools, World Radio Day 2024 was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal, with a range of fun and engaging activities aimed at highlighting the significance of radio in today’s digital age. One of the major highlights of the celebrations was a lively talk show hosted by students, where they took on the roles of radio jockeys and invited fellow students and teachers as guests.
During the talk show, students delved into discussions about the intricacies of radio, its history, how it works, and its evolution over time. They explored fascinating topics such as the invention of radio by Guglielmo Marconi and its transformation into a ubiquitous medium in the modern world. Through interactive conversations and engaging debates on World Radio Day, students gained valuable insights into the impact and relevance of radio in contemporary society.
Besides this, as students shared nostalgic memories of their parents and grandparents using radio to listen to music and staying informed, a student said, “Radio, once treasured by my grandparents for all-night music sessions on a transistor, became my dad’s travel buddy in car during his daily commute, tuning into various channels for music and updates”.
